Robert Billington is a food and drinks photographer and director based in London. Known for his bright and bold images, Robert largely shoots using flash to create a saturated and punchy body of work. Working with a talented team of home economists, drinks stylists and props stylists, Robert creates imagery which pushes the boundary between food and art. He is also one of the founders and in-house photographer at Pit Magazine, a journal for all things food and fire.

Recent clients include Sainsbury’s, Baileys, Harrods, Hellmann’s, Pernod Ricard, Future Noodles and Vogels to name a few.

Robert Billington was recently commissioned by the lovely team at Consider to shoot for IWF (Internet Watch Foundation) who aim to eliminate child sexual abuse online.

The campaign was aimed at preventing teens from sharing sexually explicit images online and Consider came up with this tongue-in-cheek project, yet with a serious message behind it. Big thanks to the whole team involved.

Incredibly 40% of the world’s fresh produce is wasted after being picked. Rob’s new personal project reimagines the lifespan of fresh goods through canning, a centuries old technique started during the Napoleonic Wars. Robert explains, ‘Something about the uniformity of cans and the surprise of what’s inside (especially those that have lost their labels in the back of the cupboards) has always intrigued me and informed this project’.

From chorizo roll, to tuna melt toastie, hot cross bun with salted caramel ice cream to banana hot dogs – the book has it all. Big thanks to the whole team with Alexander Breeze on props.
