Serena Brown The Guardian
Shooting for The Guardian, Serena Brown visited players around the country who have had their careers stunted by a lack of support after facing ACL injuries in the women’s football.
ACL, standing for Anterior Cruciate Ligament, is far more easily torn by women than men. In a male dominated field where advise and equipment is made for men, this points to why so many woman in football are facing these injuries. Some players have had to wait years for surgery dates from the NHS, hugely effecting their life.
