Marcus Marritt is a Glasgow-based illustrator focusing on a minimal approach to both form and colour. Originally working on the client side in creative services, Marcus’ love of illustration saw him make the move to creating work full time. Marcus often uses a restrained colour palette, focusing on light and shadow to create a body of cohesive and unique work.
Recent clients include ASOS, Weetabix, Vango, the FA, Visit Scotland, Barclays, Chelsea FC, BT Sport, Deliveroo, Oreo, Blackberry, British GQ, Wired and The Wall Street Journal.
Marcus Marritt was recently commissioned to create a series of illustrations for Barron’s (the Dow Jones magazine) on 5G in the US. The story focused on the escalating tech rivalry between the USA and China.
Marcus Marritt was once again commissioned to create a series of illustrations for outdoor lifestyle specialist, Vango. Marcus created a series of striking images which play heavily with shadow and light to extol the virtues of the great outdoors.
New work from Marcus Marritt who was commissioned by West Midlands Metro. Marcus was chosen to produce artwork for the new line extension which is now open. Marcus’ use of light and shadow comes to the fore and we love the results.
